Building on the success of last year's Ambiguoso, Vancouver quintet Parlour Steps release their NMR sophomore effort The Hidden Names on October 20th. Already they are seeing similar critical sentiments:
"This Vancouver-based quintet is doing everything right. Their music balances on that fine line where commercial pop meets artistic integrity. The Hidden Names is chock full of oughta-be hits." - babysue
"It is front man Caleb Stull’s relentless curiosity and daring songwriting that separates the band from the indie-rock pack." - The Devil Has The Best Tuna
"This is very enjoyable stuff, with some truly beautiful moments and some intelligent snatches of lyrics." - The Singing Lamb
With The Hidden Names, Parlour Steps also welcome touring keyboardist Alison Maira into the fold, giving them a richer, more subtle sound.
